What we collect

What you give us. Your name, phone number, email address, and whatever you choose to tell us about your situation through a contact form, a call, or a text message.

What is collected automatically. Pages viewed, the site that referred you, approximate location, and browser and device type. This comes from Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager. We use it to see which pages actually help people find a lawyer.

We do not ask for Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or medical records through this website. Please do not send them through the contact form.

Why we collect it

  • To answer your question and decide whether we can help you.
  • To send appointment reminders, document requests, and case updates once you are a client.
  • To measure which pages and ads bring people to the firm.
  • To meet our obligations under Texas law and the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct.

Text messages

If you check the SMS consent box on one of our forms, or if you text us first, you agree to receive text messages from the Law Office of Ryan Rouz at the number you gave us. We text for two reasons: to reply to people who have contacted the firm, and to send clients case updates, document requests, and appointment reminders.

  • Consent to receive texts is not a condition of hiring us or of any service.
  • Message frequency varies with your matter.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them. Reply HELP for help, or call (972) 567-1155.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number or your SMS consent with anyone. No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Full details are on our SMS Terms page.

Who else sees your information

A short list, and nobody outside it:

  • Our phone and messaging provider, which carries calls and texts for the firm.
  • Our website form host, which delivers form submissions to our inbox.
  • Google Analytics and Google Ads, for website measurement. This does not include your phone number or the substance of your message.
  • A court, or anyone else the law compels, if we are legally required to disclose something and no privilege protects it.

These vendors act on our instructions and may not use your information for their own purposes. We do not sell personal information.

Confidentiality

Sending a form, an email, or a text does not create an attorney-client relationship, and no representation begins until both sides sign a written engagement letter. We still treat what you send us as confidential and we do not share it with other people who contact the firm.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets cookies through Google Tag Manager for analytics and advertising measurement. You can block cookies in your browser, and you can install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Blocking them will not change how the site works for you.

Your choices

  • Text STOP to end text messages at any time.
  • Email ryan@rouzlaw.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. We will do so unless a legal or ethical duty requires us to keep it.
  • Ask us to stop contacting you entirely, and we will.

How long we keep it

If you never become a client, we keep your inquiry only as long as we need it to run a conflicts check and to show we handled the inquiry properly. Client files are kept for the period Texas rules and our engagement letter require.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy we will change the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be described here rather than buried.
